I completed a 20.56 mile training hike for my Camino de Santiago on the C&O Canal today with an 18 pound backpack. I started at Pennyfield Lock, passed Violettes Lock and Rileys Lock/Seneca Creek Aqueduct and continued until I went 10+ miles near Edwards Ferry.
Today was also part of the 2-day American Odyssey Relay Race. I learned that it began yesterday morning at Gettysburg and ends tonight at the Wharf in Washingon, DC. I was told the maximum number on a team is 12 and that there was one 4-member team. This was one of the many runners I saw. I thought it was cool that he was carrying the American Flag.
