July 18, 2018:
I left Dulles around 5:30 PM yesterday and arrived in Paris around 7:00 AM today. I took a shuttle to my hotel which was a couple miles from the Eiffel Tower. Therefore, I decided to walk around Paris with my full backpack. I walked 14.08 miles.
My observations of Parisians are as follows: 1) They are as bad as Americans at walking while paying more attention to their handheld device, 2) There are a lot of smokers, 3) They are aggressive drivers or at least my taxi driver was, 4) Bicyclists obey traffic laws just like a car driver does, and 5) They have been helpful to me.
After two days in the same clothes I felt gross and hand washed my clothes. Tomorrow I will wear my Virginia T-Shirt on the train/bus to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and the beginning of the Camino de Santiago.
